Québec’s cultural context has shaped charitable giving. Since the Quiet Revolution, society has moved away from church influence, contributing to lower religious engagement and reduced financial support for faith-based organizations. This history continues to shape perspectives and relationships with faith-based work today. Engagement grows through trust, cultural understanding, and communication that reflects Québec’s language and values.

Recognizing the need for humility, compassion, and practical support, a growing movement within the body of Christ in Québec began responding to those facing unexpected pregnancy and perinatal loss, resulting in the expansion of existing programs and the emergence of new organizations.

In February 2024, leaders from across the province gathered around a shared reality: funding was limiting growth and excellence. Project-based fundraising was fragmented and inefficient, leaving ministries to operate in isolation and supporters without a clear way to invest in a broader vision.

A shared conviction took shape—stronger together. What was needed was not more isolated effort, but a unified approach.

From this, Fondation Allume Québec was established: to support collective work, strengthen collaboration, and steward resources strategically—enabling sustainable growth, expanding capacity, and advancing compassionate, dignified pregnancy care across Quebec.
