Amidst challenging economic times and the impact of the global pandemic, there was a growing movement within the body of Christ in Quebec to respond with compassion and practical support to individuals facing unexpected pregnancy and perinatal loss. New initiatives began to emerge, including the strengthening of existing programs and the creation of new nonprofit organizations.

In February 2024, a gathering was held to reflect on the needs and realities faced by a range of leaders and stakeholders involved in this work across Quebec.

A common challenge quickly became clear: funding was limiting growth and the pursuit of excellence across each organization. Project-by-project fundraising was proving inefficient and unsustainable. While each ministry was serving faithfully, funding efforts were largely isolated, requiring supporters to respond to individual needs rather than engaging in a shared, strategic vision.

In response, a shared conviction began to take shape—that we are stronger together. Rather than asking supporters to navigate multiple individual needs, there was a clear need for a unified structure that would allow investment in a broader vision of what is being built across the province.

From this, the decision was made to establish a foundation: a way to support the collective work, strengthen collaboration, and steward resources more effectively. This foundation exists to advance long-term sustainability and scale, creating a strategic opportunity to invest in a unified, province-wide vision—one that strengthens impact, expands capacity, and fosters lasting compassion, dignity, and hope.
